Proboscis monkey habitat modeling

01Situation

Protecting the endangered proboscis monkey required a reliable way to identify suitable habitats across rapidly changing landscapes.

02Approach

Contributed to an ensemble machine learning workflow integrating environmental and spatial variables to model habitat suitability across Borneo.

03Finding

Combining multiple predictive models produced a more reliable basis for identifying priority conservation areas than relying on individual models alone.

04Outcome

Published in Global Ecology and Conservation, supporting evidence-based conservation planning.
